Round River Provisions

About us

We've Built These Supply Chains Before

Round River Provisions was founded in December 2025 by a team that had already done this once — in one of the hardest categories there is.

Team

Who we are

Mark Zimring
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Co-founder. Previously launched PIT that disrupted global tuna markets. Led regenerative supply chain strategy and implementation at The Nature Conservancy. Deep fluency in both commercial retail and conservation- linked program design.

Michelle Zackin
CHIEF STRATEGY OFFICER

Co-founder. Consumer insights and corporate sustainability leader who implemented regenerative food sourcing programs at Walmart and Sam’s Club. Leads partnership development and management.

Shea Anderson
CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER

Co-founder. Supply chain and operations leader who scaled critical global supply chains at Tesla, Lyft, and Skydio — building supplier networks from scratch in constrained markets. Applies the same discipline to food.

Our story

Our story

Before Round River, our founding team launched PIT, which has disrupted global tuna market and delivered. Tuna is about as difficult as sourcing gets: fragmented international production, thin traceability, and real reputational exposure. Making it work required coordinating independent harvesters, processors, and logistics partners around a standard that could actually be verified — and then giving a major retailer enough confidence to commit to volume.

The same approach was applied at Tesla, directing base-material sourcing and allocating constrained supply across multi-tier supplier networks to hold continuity while production scaled. Different industry, identical problem: how do you get reliable supply out of a network you don’t own?

Round River applies that method across fats, oils, and proteins. We own no farms and no factories. Where a category needs a supply company rather than a broker, we build one and sell the product ourselves. Where a strong producer already exists, we structure the demand that lets them scale. Both run on the same verification backbone.

How we work

How we work

Coordination over ownership

We own no farms and no factories. We assemble independent producers, processors, and logistics partners into a chain a buyer can commit to.

Outcomes over process

Programs are measured on what happened in the field, on the boat, and in the transaction record.

Commercial first

A program that doesn’t pencil for every partner in the chain won’t last.

Learning compounds

Each category teaches us something the next one uses, from spec design to verification build.

Let's talk about your category.
