Round River Provisions
Tomorrow's Resilient Supply Chains, Delivered Today
Round River Provisions builds resilient nature-positive supply chains, priced for mainstream consumers. Where producers are already doing it right, we structure their path to market. Where no one is, we build the supply ourselves.
Two ways we bring supply to market
Products we sell.
Where we see an opportunity to build a more resilient supply chain in a category, we build it. We set the standards, recruit the producers, contract processing and logistics, develop monitoring and verification requirements, and sell the product directly. Live today in pork and seafood.
Programs we broker.
The solutions already exist — what’s missing is access. Producers doing things right can’t reach the mass-market partners who’d help them scale. Promising ingredients stall in the valley of death, not from lack of belief but lack of a demand signal. We close that gap: partnering with Fortune 100 companies to turn “if only” into bankable, multi-year offtake.
We measure what matters: product quality, environmental impact, animal welfare, producer resilience. Process-based certifications only verify that a process happened. New tools let us skip straight to outcomes.
Products in development
Whole Hog Provisions
Honest pork, done right. Better quality, better animal welfare, nature-positive — and built to support small and mid-scale producers, not replace them. Bedded hoop barns instead of manure lagoons. Cover crops and small grains instead of a single commodity ration. Sensors monitoring welfare year-round, instead of one annual audit.
Seafood
Turning Tide Provisions
Good Fish, Harvested Right. Premium tinned seafood, priced for everyday shoppers. Harvested in ways we can all feel good about—cameras on boats, crew wifi access, reinvestment in supporting the resilience of fishing communities.
Categories We Source and Structure
Concentrated supply. Price volatility. Environmental exposure. No visibility past the trader layer. These are the categories we work in, and probably the ones keeping you up.
In most of them, the better producer already exists. The route to your shelf doesn’t. We build it.
Shrimp
No antibiotics, mangrove-integrated, community-farmed
Tuna
Electronically monitored, island-community sourced
Beef
Regenerative, grass-fed, tech-verified grazing
Pork
Open-hoop barn, regenerative agriculture
Algae oil
Stable, fish-free omega-3 replacement
Tropical oils
Functional alternatives for food & beauty
Also in development: dairy, cocoa butter, egg protein, and salmon. If your hardest category isn’t on this list, it’s the one we want to hear about.
Why this model
Corporate sustainability programs were built to manage reputational risk, not prevent supply disruptions. The real volatility
keeps coming — a sourcing region closed overnight, a recall that takes out a category, a climate shock that wipes out a harvest.
None of it is solved by another pledge.
Why the usual tools don’t reduce supply risk
- Certifications measure process, not outcomes. They don’t tell you whether the water, the soil, or the fishery behind your supply will still be there in five years.
- The traders in the middle earn on price swings. Smoothing volatility for retailers and producers is not their top priority.
- Sensible deals stall inside organizations without a dedicated owner. Too commercial for traditional sustainability, too unusual for typical procurement, too long‑term for buyers incentivized by the next quarter.
